AI: The Answer to Our Questions

Allen Iverson wants to play for the Grizzlies? Why wouldn't he? The Grizzlies are the only team that gives him the chance to pair with Zach Randolph.

And AI is the star of one of my favorite YouTube videos:

For the right price, I would take a chance on the future Hall of Famer. The Grizzlies should have acquired him when Denver traded for him.

He would certainly give Chris Wallace the opportunity to prove that he's willing to give Mike Conley's minutes to someone else.

Iverson, randloph, and stackhouse? Do you know how good we would be in NBA Live 2002?

I'm on board for a one-year five million dollar deal with Iverson. He'll sell more than $5M in tickets and jerseys. Plus, it should move Conley to the bench, which is worth at least $5M.

by the way, since i have started reading 3sob.com on a regular basis I am becoming more and more impressed with Heisley's uncanny business sense. as much as simmons makes fun of us and calkins hates us, heisley is MAKING MONEY with the grizz. can you believe this? we win 16 game and he MAKES MONEY. seriously he screws over every grizz fan there is all the time, but at least there is a method to his madness. iverson for one million seriously? why not.

Sam, I think Iverson is a risk, but the payoff has greater potential than most other backups at guard that the Grizzlies could pull off.

As with Randolph, the Grizzlies don't have to give away any basketball assets to get him either.

John, I don't think that Heisley can continue to turn a profit via this strategy. In the long term, I think he has to produce a winner on the court to be successful with the bottom line.

He hasn't demonstrated the ability to do that well, and it will likely take significant financial investment, short-term losses, and high risks.

I'm not sure Heisley has the stomach for any of that at this point.
