Trade for Beasley?

I wonder if the Heat wish they had traded Beasley for the number 2 draft pick. Beasley's trade value plummeted today when he checked into rehab.

If the Grizzlies can take advantage of Pat Riley's frustrations they should. Are the chances greater that Thabeet will pan out or that Beasley will pull his act together?

A year from now, who will be better?

On an unrelated note, I love how sites like RealGM and CNNSI are reporting that the "Wolves might make [a] play for Rudy Gay". It turns out that a writer in Minnesota speculated:

"It will be interesting to see if the Timberwolves, in need of a legitimate small forward, make a run at Memphis' 6-8, 240-pound Rudy Gay, who can become a restricted free agent next summer and might not be affordable for the Grizzlies. Ricky Rubio could be worthwhile trade bait."

I love that Charley Walters' convoluted thought somehow provides insight into the Wolves next move. CNN may as well report that the Grizzlies are trading for Beasley...

Beasley is a great player, a young and promising star.

Thabeet is a project, more long term project than Beasley. We have to wait 2-3 years from now and see what happens.

I agree, but I think Beasley has a bigger upside and is more likely to approximate his upside.

If Beasley's rehab means he's available at a discount, the Grizz should take advantage.

Yes, seen it and love it.

Do you think he's just using the Grizz to get an offer from a better team? [perhaps this is best viewed as a rhetorical question]

I don't think any of the other interested teams have the cap flexibilty to out bid us.

Sam, could we restate your question this way: Do you think he's super excited about backing up Mike Conley Jr?
