Why?

Why is it that the Grizzlies have the 2nd best pick in the draft, but it seems like they're in the worst position of any team?

Why does it seem like other teams are making moves while the Grizzlies are falling behind?

Why can't the Grizzlies turn Milicic's expiring contract into something better than Quentin Richardson?

These are questions that hopefully will be answered on Thursday night. Hopefully, the answer will be that the Grizzlies have been biding their time until the Clippers to buckle under the pressure of the Grizzlies' offer for Blake Griffin.

As an aside, Chris Herrington has it right on the proposed deals with Minnesota. Except the part where he's willing to take Love and #18 for #2.

What are the Timberwolves going to do if the Grizz don't agree to a trade with them? Are they really going to draft four first rounders?

They should take Love and the 18 if that's available in my opinion. If Love had his freshman stats at UCLA this past year--he would be considered the Number 2 pick in this draft. He may be a little slow, but Mayo and Conley both proved in college they can succeed with a slow-paced team (which is what we'd have with a starting core of Gasol/Love/Gay/Mayo/Conley).

CNNSI is reporting that the Wolves GM said Love would not be traded on Dan Patrick's show.

I think the Wolves could conceivable take 4 first rounders and worry about trades later...

I hope OJ Mayo is in a gym somewhere practicing.

Oh my fucking God, I was about to type another comment, but the Grizz just draft Demarre Carroll ahead of DeJuan Blair and Chase Budinger. I'm going to go get my Battier jersey and light it on fire now

Please name for me the players in the NBA over 7'2 that are difference makers for their team. Yao only counts as half of one player because he is always hurt (much like Greg Oden is, and Ralph Sampson was, and Bill Walton was, and so on and so forth).
